Do I have another book series to read?

Jul 12, 2010 Author: Dani | Filed under: books

Ever since the movie Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief came out, I’ve grown interested in the book series. As a matter of fact, I’ve become so interested in it that I’ve gotten all five of the books and am going to begin devouring them as soon as possible. :P Along with that, I should get to reading the last book in the Harry Potter saga, which I still haven’t done… even though I read the first six books while I was pregnant with my oldest son, the seventh book has managed to elude me even though it is in my book collection. I have the habit of reading through my favorites until the covers are practically falling off of them as a result, but it takes a lot for me to get interested in a new book. Needless to say, I’m welcoming this recent deviation!

Well, it looks like I still need a new battery for my laptop. The one that my father gave me doesn’t fit into mine, which was kind of surprising considering that our laptops were extremely similar in both make and model… but I should have a functional battery before the fall semester of school starts, so I’m not too worried. At least this computer isn’t like the old Gateway that I used to have, seeing as how it can go without being plugged into the wall for a little while before warning me that the battery is low or shutting off. Generally, I keep my laptop plugged into the wall a lot of the time anyways, especially when I’m doing something on it at school — if you can actually find an empty wall socket during peak hours in the student center, consider yourself lucky.

In other news, it actually managed to escape me for most of the month that Stephenie Meyer’s novella The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner came out. Ironically enough, I remembered when the Eclipse soundtrack came out down to the date, but the date of the novella’s release never stuck with me. I am looking forward to reading it as soon as I can get my hands on a copy, though!

  • Another Eclipse still shot that I just love!

imagebam.com Yeah, you can pretty much consider me Team Jasper by this point. It’s going to suck that I’m probably not going to be able to see Eclipse at the theater just like Matt took me to see New Moon, but I think I can live through that — I can just get Eclipse on DVD whenever it comes out. As it is, Eclipse hits theaters way too close to my due date, and I would feel horrible going out to see it even if James were already born by then because I don’t want to leave him with someone else at that age for a reason like that.

There’s always listening to the Eclipse soundtrack, though — I’ve heard that it’s really good! However, I’ve also heard that the Muse song on it was a major let-down to a lot of die-hard Muse fans, and I’ve come to like their music, so… maybe I’ll just skip that track. :(

I like Jasper’s hair in this movie as compared to how it was in the first two, too.

After seeing stills like this, I am officially wholeheartedly Team Jasper. :P

To me, he’s everything that Edward is not. He’s a true Southern gentleman, but without even trying, he exudes this bad-ass aura that makes other vampires and werewolves alike fear him. He’s also intelligent, which is always a plus…

My friend Lena’s Team Carlisle, and I’m Team Jasper. None of us are Team Edward. Although I could tolerate him up to Eclipse, him disabling Bella’s car and having Alice kidnap her so that she couldn’t see her best friend kind of… threw that out the window for me. A lot of girls are going to grow up reading Twilight and assume that such controlling behavior is normal. That’s just sad.
