I need to make more exceptions, I swear.

By and large, I will take one bite of whatever I feed my son… or at least poke my tongue in a small amount of it. This allows me to gauge tastes to feed him more of what he likes and avoid what he doesn’t. However, I made the mistake of trying those Li’l Sticks by Gerber not too long ago… and they tasted absolutely nothing like Vienna “weenies”, as I used to call them while I was growing up. Not a bit. They tasted awfully bland, and I could see why James did not like them. I think I got him to eat maybe one and a half sticks of them, and given that they tend to come in glass containers of about six… yeah, I’m starting to guess that bland turkey isn’t James’ favorite meat. (Nor is it mine.)

I can see why James likes taking age-appropriate bites of “real people food”!

Oh, and if you guys don’t know, I live near where the Atheist Experience tapes. Later on, I’m going to be seeing if I get the Austin channel too — I’m hoping that I do, because I would love to be able to sit down in front of my television and watch these folks do their thing. Although being able to watch old episodes of their show over on their site is awesome, being able to watch on television would be great! It almost makes me wish I’d become a broadcast journalist…

  • I’ve started doing that writing thing again!

And by writing, I mean, story writing. Maybe poetry writing will come at a later date as I learn once more to exercise the various “creative urges” that come with doing anything literary. Right now, I’m using Evans’ Blue “Fear” to write the prologue of one short story I’m working on, as most of my inspiration comes from my close friend Lena — I happened to tell her about something I’d come up with when we were discussing perhaps the most popular work on her FictionPress account (RageOfAquarius), and suffice it to say, she liked it tons!

  • Are you going to be seeing Monte Carlo on July 1st?

Jun 23, 2011 Author: Dani | Filed under: filibuster

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Monte Carlo for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Do you have a daughter who loves romantic comedies? Perhaps you might be a fan of them yourself. If either of those two things are the case, you should get to the theaters on July 1st to see Monte Carlo! I know I’m going to be doing just that. For those of you that haven’t already begun to hear about the movie, Selena Gomez stars in it and plays the character Grace. On a summer trip to Paris with her best friend and step-sister, she becomes a heiress… and along the way, they learn that the greatest adventure in life is to find out who they are. Personally, I would rank that as being a lot better than going to nice places… although I won’t lie, I would just love to be able to hop on a plane at whim and go to Paris! I have always loved France.

And if any of you use Fandango like I do, you can get Monte Carlo tickets as early as June 29th… which is exactly what I’m going to be doing. Having my ticket in hand two entire days before the movie actually priemeres will be a lot less stressful on me, because that will be one less thing I’ll have to worry about.

If you have Facebook, you should seriously head on over to the movie’s Facebook page and Like it! I have myself, but not just because I can’t wait to see Monte Carlo for myself — although that is true, I’ve been a big fan of Selena Gomez for awhile now. Disney’s hit show The Wizards Of Waverly Place is one of the very few shoes that hooked me from the beginning, and I actually love every single song on Selena’s 2009 album.

Are any of you going to be seeing this movie? If so, leave me a comment and tell me how excited you are!
