So far, I’ve gained maybe a pound in this pregnancy. That’s normal given the fact that the amniotic sac, placenta and small fetus comprise roughly a pound. I had an appointment with my primary care physician today, wherein she’s decided to delay my shots since I’m only seven weeks and one day along in this pregnancy. She also changed my asthma inhaler over from Xopenex HFL to ProAir HFL, which is safer for the baby since the dosage isn’t quite as abundant… and as it is, I only need to take one puff from my asthma inhaler every time I need to use it, because two puffs tend to overpower me most of the time. Additionally, two puffs of my inhaler is just like I never even took it in the first place a lot of the time. It swings the pendulum a complete rotation, rather than just pushing it over to the “good” side and keeping it there. Hopefully, my asthma does not worsen.

I’m not eating for two, but I am quite seriously breathing for two here…

At any rate, my blood pressure is actually normal! Usually, it’s one of two things… low or really low. I’m not fighting for it to be normal by drinking caffeine-free sodas or eating snacks just to make it look better! Let’s see how long this lasts. When the third trimester of my pregnancy with Jason rolled around, I wasn’t doing much better than 90/50. I know that if it were ever to get and stay below that point, I would have to face the possibility of hospitalization. I also know that if my asthma worsens considerably, I might have to face a restricted lifestyle for the next few months. Hope for the best!

Edit: My pharmacist talked to my doctor and decided to change me back to Xopenex HFL, because it is in fact safe to take as needed during pregnancy. I’m just taking a lower dose right now, and only when absolutely necessary.
