Where Dani writes about… just about everything!
For those of you that might be new to my blog or don’t already know, I am a strong advocate of a lot of the things that are talked about on Mothering.com, which is a mothering and parenting website that I’ve been a big fan of since my pregnancy. I know I’ve written some about this in my mom blog, but while my son is taking his afternoon nap I had to come back and write about it in my main blog as well. Through this, I have made a lot of friends who think the same way as me on many important aspects of child rearing and parenting…
One of the things that I’ve noticed more and more through my casual reading of the various articles on this website is that the United States differs from many of the other countries in the world in many of the standard ways that they choose to parent and raise their children. And a lot of them are good, because we have a lot more knowledge at our disposal when it comes to ways that we can keep our children safe and ensure their health that a lot of other, smaller countries might not easily have as much access to. And just so you guys know, I’m not one of those mothers who refuses to get their child vaccinated just because it might “taint their [fragile little] bodies”; newsflash, they took mercury out of almost all of the vaccines in about 2001 when it was reported that more children recieving vaccines with mercury in them were at a greater risk for developing autism. However, you can’t really help but think.
But yeah, like I’ve said, check out Mothering.Com if you’re someone’s mother whenever you get a chance. This is by far my favorite site when it comes to reading about parenting strategies and talking to parents who believe in these!
