Where Dani writes about… just about everything!
In about a week, I should have a new battery for my laptop. In attempting to determine how much power my current battery actually holds, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s got to be somewhere between 3% and 4%. It’ll get as low as 96% or 97% before suddenly Locking me on Windows 7 because the power is low. If I don’t manage to get it plugged into the wall soon, it’ll die after that. Because I know that I’m going to have to do some of my Statistics work on my laptop, I decided to order the battery that my laptop would need before school began so as to have it on hand. After all, there may come points where I need to be able to do work on it without being able to hook it up to the nearest wall. I don’t want my grades to suffer because my laptop kept shutting down on me.
Fortunately for me, the rest of my laptop is in working condition. Since my father was nice enough to give me 2GB of RAM to add to it, things tend to run a lot faster… that, and his more recent gift of Windows 7 has made things go even quicker. I can run a lot of my old games on it because of the Compatibility wizard, even older ones like MapleStory with a little tinkering.
Next Monday, I head up to school to get my books and supplies. Has time really flown by that quickly? If I recall, the first part of the summer almost seemed to drag by because I was pregnant. But now that I’ve given birth to my son, everything has gone by so much quicker. As a matter of fact, the friend of a good friend of mine has taken to counting down the days, hours, minutes and even seconds until school starts back up on one of the social networking sites that I’m a part of. It’s amusing to see the effort he put into it!
