Well, as it turns out… I have the cold. I found that out when we were staining cells during Microbiology lab and I kept on having to turn away from the microscope because I was sneezing. But I did get a couple of really nice stains even in spite of it, so I’m satisfied. When I was preparing the stains and fixing them, I was wondering what was on here because you can’t really see anything when you do it properly… well, aside from a bit of a haze after you run the slides over the flame. And when I was washing the residual stain off of the slide, I was convinced that it would take my cells right along with it. But when I began looking under the microscope, I could see my cells, nice and lit up! My lab partner, just out of his own luck when he was preparing his slides, couldn’t really get that much. It all really depends on how you do it, I guess…

That, and a little bit of luck can’t hurt when you’re working with stuff that you can’t really see. Our professor collected our cultures from around the school.
