This week, in my Microbiology lecture class, we’ve been discussing the swine flu recently. I’ve heard that Texas is receiving more and more swine flu kits, as a matter of fact. Not only did we have two outbreaks here just a couple of hours north of where I live, but it was in Texas that the first death due to the swine flu occurred. I heard that it was a twenty-three month old child that got the swine flu and died due to complications of it, which struck me as extremely sad because… well, that’s a small child that we’re talking about.
